Scene 9 – Where is Dorothy?

Scene 9 – Where is Dorothy?

When Pope Francis came to the United States and spoke to the United States Congress, he lifted up the names of four Americans whom we should emulate. Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, Dorothy Day and Thomas Merton. Of those, Dorothy Day (find out more about her here) is the one who lived and wandered the streets of Chicago. In fact, her family was known to attend church as Our Savior Episcopal Church near Fullerton and Clark.

The journey of the Three Kings has taken them by this historic church to see if they could find any modern day saint walking around. Good news, there are many! There are men and women of all denominations who live like Dorothy Day did, caring for the poor, advocating for them in City Hall, Springfield, and Washington D.C.

May we be ready for when the Three Kings come to visit us and be found to be saints in the making.
