What’s your experience of Christian community? Are you blessed with many friends, enjoying the full support of a community that shares your values and desire for heaven? Or do you feel isolated, as though it’s just you and your family alone in the world? Maybe you’re wondering what authentic community even looks like. It’s difficult to live a Christian life without community, and the fact that our modern culture is so isolating and fragmentary takes a tragic toll on our families an faith. In today’s Gospel, Jesus calls us to be “catching” others still outside the nets. Sometimes building community start with us taking the first step of reaching out. Drawn together in the “net” of his love, we can help each other on our way to heaven.
