Scene 14 – Saint Andrew Parish
At last, the Three Kings have arrived at Saint Andrew Parish where today we celebrate their coming in the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord. They are here to recognize the presence of Christ. He is here! Come to worship him!
A casually repeated modern quote goes “the real treasure was the friends we made along the way” and the real Epiphany to us mirrors that statement. The real presence of Christ has been the stops the Three Kings made along the way.
Maybe the crazy wonderlust of stargazers is a gift that helps us to recognize Christ is truly present in our community church, but that’s not all. We become truly transformed when we can see Christ in the homeless, in our coworkers, in our classmates, and in our families. When we see him in places of joy and places of sorry, in the struggles of the pandemic and the work we do to overcome the struggles.
This is the unifying beatific vision, the transformed vantage point of a disciple of Jesus. May we all be ready to see Christ in the journey of our life and grateful to find him laying before us, as simply as a child.
Thank you for making this journey with us. God bless! Happy Epiphany!
