The Advent Wreath is an important symbol to Catholics as we prepare for Christmas by lighting one candle for each week of Advent. Fr. Sergio will bless your family Advent wreaths after the 9:00am Mass on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Please bring your wreath to the post-mass gathering in the gym to be blessed
If you do not have a wreath, join other families in making wreathes with fresh garland at the gathering.
During the gathering on December 1, we’ll have coffee and donuts as we work together to make beautiful Advent wreaths. We are ordering grapevine wreaths with four holders for tapers candles and electric candles to go into the tapers (to avoid fire-based disasters).
An image of the grapevine wreath can be seen to the right (if viewing on computer or below if viewing on the mobile device). We’ll have fresh evergreen clippings and ribbon to enhance the decoration for your own home. After we’ve had the chance for families to make a wreath, we’ll have a blessing for all the wreaths.
Saint Andrew will provide electric candles for these wreaths which will hold any regular sized taper candle. Three purple and one pink as is traditional. Parishioners are asked to make a donation for the wreath with a suggested donation of $25. Please RSVP for your family’s participation in this activity by November 26, 2024. RSVP by pre-ordering your wreath through the button below.
