Volunteer with Saint Andrew
Saint Andrew Parish has been volunteering once per month at the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) for many, many years. While we are there we could be assigned a number of different jobs-checking expiration dates on cans, checking freshness of bread or produce, breaking down large quantities of rice or beans into more manageable sizes, creating food boxes for the elderly, etc. Not only does our work directly help the food depository manage the large donations they receive, but for each volunteer that attends with our group, food credit is also given back to our local food pantries to assist them in purchasing additional food they may need. This is a great way to support both local and regional efforts in the fight to end hunger! We invite you to join us!
Please read the “Recent Messages” to the right for the next opportunities to serve.
