Dear Saint Andrew Community,
I write to you today to share some exciting news! We have hired Mrs. Sarah Casavechia for the position of principal at Saint Andrew School, starting with the 2022/2023 academic year. Many of you know Mrs. Casavechia very well as she has served as Saint Andrew School’s Assistant Principal for the last 13 years. Some of our newer families may not be as familiar with her, but I am confident that they will quickly come to know her and acknowledge her many talents.
In addition to her years in school administration, Mrs. Casavechia also has 12 years of experience as a teacher, with 6 of those years here at Saint Andrew School, and 6 years at the former Our Lady of Lourdes School. That experience will prove invaluable as she takes on the leadership of our school.
A word of thanks is in order to the teachers, School Advisory Board members, parents, parishioners, and Saint Andrew staff members that served on the Principal Selection Committee. I appreciate their time and the diligence they took in preparing our survey, developing interview questions, and providing their wise counsel to me.
Finally, a word of thanks is also due to our principal Mr. Allen Ackermann. Not only am I thankful for his 13 years of service as our principal, but I am also thankful for the mentorship he provided Mrs. Casavechia during those years. His wisdom and generosity helped to make possible this new chapter in our school’s long history.
Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Casavechia and offering her our support. I look forward to her continuing to grow our school in excellence, academic achievement, and faith in God.

She’s the best educator and leader a school could ask for in these difficult times. She is very qualified, caring, kind, and appreciative of all teachers, parents, and students. School year 2022-2023 will be a new adventure for Sarah, but she’s up for the task. Congratulations!
